La Compton

"LA Compton" 32" x 32” - Acrylic and mixed techniques on woodThis painting is part of my Vitamine C collection. Between the layers of paint, you’ll find authentic advertisements and comics from newspapers of the 1940s. As a tribute to Compton, a charming village in the Eastern Townships renowned for its rich apple-growing culture, I’ve titled this piece LA COMPTO. The texture skillfully blends burlap and newspaper clippings, adding unique depth to the artwork.

Le Gaulois

LE GAULOIS - 18” X 24” - Acrylic and mixed media on wood In French tradition, the rooster is a strong symbol, chosen to represent national identity for centuries. I named this piece LE GAULOIS to evoke the ancient origins of France. The Gauls were the first inhabitants of the French territory, known for their courage and independence. This proud rooster honours that ancestral strength and the unbreakable spirit of the Gauls. Hidden within the layers of paint, you'll find a piece of fabric in memory of my mother-in-law, Diane Bunker.

Play

“PLAY" 36" X 48” - Acrylic and mixed techniques on wood When I say that everything inspires me, this is proof! This summer, my friend Jacques wore a pair of light blue and white striped shorts, featuring flamingos in the foreground. Inspired by his look, I dressed my rabbit in a matching shirt with the same pattern. On the right ear, a PLAY sign invites you to switch to PLAY mode at least once a day.

La Rousse

LA ROUSSE (The Red Head) - 15” X 19” - Acrylic and Mixed Media on WoodAllow me to reintroduce this character I began painting over twenty years ago. I’ve named her Gisèle. This time, I brought her to life again, imagining she would appreciate being displayed within this frame that once belonged to my in-laws, the Bunker family from New Brunswick. As the family wished to part with it, I thought it fitting to honour it with one of my favorite muses. Take note, between the layers of paint are newspaper clippings from 1949, found in the walls of an…
