MON SAINT-LAURENT – 35” X 45” – Acrylic and Mixed Media on Wood This painting is part of my AZUL collection and pays tribute to the Saint Lawrence River and the city of Montreal. Between the layers of paint, you’ll discover an illustration of our favourite explorer, Jacques Cartier, along with a map of the island of Montreal and its metro system. I’ve also included the musical score and lyrics of one of the most famous songs by Leonard Cohen, a Montreal icon. To enhance the texture, I’ve added burlap, plaster, and pebbles reminiscent of the riverbed.
THE RECTOR – 15” X 19” – Acrylic and Mixed Media on Wood This portrait features the highest-ranking official of the University of Sherbrooke—but this time, on vacation! Relaxed, he proudly wears a straw hat, a bow tie, and his favorite shirt. Far from ordinary, the shirt reveals newspaper comic strips from the 1940s, adding a historical touch to his look. To enhance the piece, a fabric fragment completes the composition, bringing a subtle and textured element to the artwork.
CRÉPUSCULE SUR BELLEVUE (TWILIGHT OVER BELLEVUE) – 24” X 16” – Acrylic and Mixed Media on WoodThis abstract painting evokes the sunlight reflecting off Mont Bellevue, located just above the campus of the University of Sherbrooke. Pastels and shades of yellow, orange, and red blend with geometric shapes representing the various species of trees found on the mountain. Together, they subtly suggest the transition from day to night, creating an atmosphere that is both vibrant and soothing.
Sunset Lover - 18” X 18” - Acrylic and mixed media on wood. This piece is part of my LOVE collection, capturing the warmth, passion, and fleeting beauty of a sunset embrace. Like the golden hour’s last glow, its layers hold whispers of nostalgia and romance. Hidden within are sketches by the renowned Quebec cartoonist Michel Rabagliati, vintage comic strips and newspaper ads from the 1940s, and excerpts from VIVRE PARIS magazine celebrating Joie de Vivre and L’Amour à la Française. Je t'aime - 20" x 20" - Acrylic and mixed media on wood. This piece is part of the LOVE collection. Within its layers of paint, you’ll discover comic strips and advertisements from the 1940s, as well as works by one of Quebec’s greatest cartoonists, Michel Rabagliati. It also features articles from BON APPÉTIT magazine, such as "The French Revolution" and "Love for a Lifetime." I included my mother’s favorite chocolate, the Cherry Blossom, along with a Batman logo, as a reminder that we all carry a superhero in our hearts. Texture: burlap.
