JE REVIENS TE CHERCHER

“JE REVIENS TE CHERCHER” - 48” X 36” - Acrylic and mixed media on canvas. This piece is a first of this genre because it was created in black, white, metallic silver and all “Fifty Shades of Grey”.  In this unique creation, you will find the same techniques used in my colourful creations although here, the emphasis is placed on subtleties, reliefs, textures and small abstractions. For the cycling and wine lovers, again, you will be well served because the bottle of wine displays a genuine label of a Grand Cru Saint-Emilion, year 1961.  On the bicycle frame, there is…

THE GENERAL

THE GENERAL - 36”x48” Acrylic and mixed techniques on canvas. Charles de Gaulle was without a doubt one of France’s most influential presidents. He was nicknamed The General because of his strong political stance. The rooster became the emblem of this country in the 18th century, during the French Revolution. The rooster and General de Gaulle are both known for their courage and braveness.

COURNOYER

COURNOYER - 30”X40” - acrylic and mixed techniques on canvas This painting honours the famed Montreal Canadiens hockey player, Yvan Cournoyer. I remember watching hockey games with my father and brother back in the 70s. My father nicknamed him the Crow because he was in every corner of the rink at any given time. Between layers of paint you will notice brand names that remind me of my youth such as Vachon cakes, Labatt 50, Campbell soups, Jell-O, Mountain Dew to name a few. Have fun trying to find them!

FLEURS LA NUIT

FLEURS LA NUIT - 20” X 30” Bouquets are usually admired by day...why not admire them at night? Do know, however, that despite its name, which means Flowers at Night, this painting will glow and show its splendor in the daytime. Texture created with swatches from my mother-in-law and plaster

PLAYBOY 2

PLAYBOY 2 - 16”X20” - acrylic and mixed media on canvas To create these two characters, I chose to work with complementary colours such as blue/green vs red/orange. Our two friends may remind some of us of PLAYBOY, the famed pornographic magazine. However I’m sure you’ll agree that they are much cuter! The classic and ornamental frame make them even more chic.
