Water Lover – 20” X 20” – Acrylic and mixed media on wood.
This piece is part of the LOVE collection and pays tribute to my abstract collection AZUL. It was created for those who, like me, are passionate about water in all its forms. Hidden within its layers of paint are comic strips from the 1940s, articles from BON APPÉTIT magazine, and sketches by the talented Quebec cartoonist Michel Rabagliati. Inspired by water, it showcases shades of blue and metallic green, accented with bronze and pink. For texture, I added a piece of fabric to the bottom right in memory of my mother-in-law.
