LE GAULOIS – 18” X 24” – Acrylic and mixed media on wood
In French tradition, the rooster is a strong symbol, chosen to represent national identity for centuries. I named this piece LE GAULOIS to evoke the ancient origins of France. The Gauls were the first inhabitants of the French territory, known for their courage and independence. This proud rooster honours that ancestral strength and the unbreakable spirit of the Gauls. Hidden within the layers of paint, you’ll find a piece of fabric in memory of my mother-in-law, Diane Bunker.
