“BETWEEN THE BREAKS – 30” X 40”

I had the privilege to create a unique and personalized piece for this very passionate guitarist from Vancouver, British Columbia. This 12-string guitar was created for an avid fan of Canadian folk music. In this piece, the great Gordon Lightfoot and Stan Rogers are honoured with the cover of a few of their albums and lyrics of Geoff’s preferred songs. I entitled this piece: “BETWEEN THE BRAKES”, the title of a Stan Rogers’ famous album.
Embedded between the layers of paint, we can locate a sketch designed by a late close friend. This friend also awakened music to Geoff many years ago. Several other items are hidden that I challenge you to find.
Texture: Plaster, burlap and fabrics from my mother-in-law.
I want to thank Geoff for trusting me in this artistic project that I consider very distinctive and meaningful.
