“PARC BELMONT” – 48” X 36” – ACRYLIC AND MIXED MEDIA ON CANVAS.
Having grown up in Sherbrooke, QC, I did not have the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of Le Parc Belmont. The only reference I had was the song (of the same title) of our iconic singer, Diane Dufresne (composer: Luc Plamondon, 1979).

This piece symbolises the colourful horses of the famous Carrousel that revolved for six decades on the north-west side of Montreal. Unfortunately, the opening of another amusement park (“La Ronde”) and the raising of the city taxes forced the historic establishment to close its doors in 1983. For those who cherish precious memories, I let you fall back in this oh so precious and romantic era that brought us the forever famous, LE PARC BELMONT.
