GISÈLE & SAMUEL : 24” X 18” – Acrylic and mixed media on wood.
As promised, here’s latest piece in my GISÈLE collection. This time, she is painted in a smaller format. As I enjoy adding items of our heritage, she wears a red rose on which you can discern a rather refined handwriting dating back to the end of The Renaissance (early 1600’s). It belongs to the great explorer Samuel De Champlain. This historical letter to King Henri IV, preceded Champlain’s first sailing on The Saint-Lawrence River.

Texture: Plaster and fabrics.
